“Pool” is simply a subset of billiards, or cue sports, as a whole. I enjoy all kinds of billiards, though my level of skill at them varies somewhat dramatically. Seriously, try three cushion. I don’t know how anyone plays that.

Actually, I’d bet you it’s the other way around - they put a lot of thought into their imagery and branding. Rather than try to make a whole shit ton of wild graphics in an attempt to stand out on shelves full of a whole shit ton of other wild graphics, their labels are simple and communicative of everything a beer fan wants to know. The end result is that they stand out due to their simplicity. The actual beers speak for themselves.
